Before I get into writing this article, I wish to thank Joseph of JFB Marketing for bringing the value of the branding tags to my notice in a recently published article.
What are branding tags?
Whenever a member submits an Article, a Rev-Page or a Talent at APSense they can include up to 5 "Branding Tags" that other members will be able to choose when they wish to indicate a "like" for that item.
These branding tags then show up in the profile of the user who submitted the Article, Rev-Page or Talent.
It is an interesting little exercise to see what branding tags other members have selected for your contributions to APSense. To do that, go to the Interests and Haves menu item of your APSense profile. Scroll down to see your Branding Tags, where these will be displayed with the number of like for each one. Here is one way to see how other people are providing feedback to you.
Branding Tags and SEO.
Your branding tags act as keywords for search engines to use for returning results to queries with that keywords.
An example of how this works goes something like this. Consider that you want to find an APSense member that is an expert on a topic or subject that you wish to know about. Use a search engine e.g. Google, and type in a query with that subject (keyword) and the word APSense.
Most likely you will find an APSense member's profile, article, etc. high up on the first page of the results.
So what does that mean for you?
When you write an Article, Rev-Page or submit a Talent think carefully about how you would like this item to contribute to your "brand."
When other members of your item at APSense that will then add some more credibility to you in that area, and it will be shown on your profile. That profile, which shows your Interests and Haves, can then be used by search engines to help others find you.
