Create and encourage friendly competition with your staff; it could be for the day, week, or for the month this is a proven method that creates a new desire for the team to win the competition. Everyone wants to be recognized as the best on the team.
Make things interesting, so the team is never bored, at times you will need to shake things up to get their attention. Change certain comfort levels the team enjoys and spends too much time in certain areas that are just not productive.
Create traditions for the calendar year, if it's Thanksgiving than promote it with a Thanksgiving give way, specials or what every fits the occasion. Encourage your team to come up with the best way to promote this event.Getting your staff involved is an excellent way of getting their attention and taking their desire to a different level.
Encourage your staff to take self-improvement courses, learning new skills, keeping your team focused on work and how they can generate more income is a positive way of keeping them sharp.
